Gerald Anderson and Maja Salvador |
MANILA – Gerald Anderson and Maja Salvador will have to spend Valentine’s Day apart since the actor has an overseas engagement.
Anderson, however, said this does not mean they won’t be able to celebrate the occasion.
“Nasa abroad ako eh. Pero love month naman eh. Hindi naman kailangan na Valentine’s Day mismo. Marami namang oras,” he told ABS-CBN News on Wednesday.
Although he will be away on February 14, Anderson stressed that this is not an issue between him and his girlfriend.
Having been a couple for over a year now, he said he makes it a point to make every day like Valentine’s Day for Salvador.
“Siyempre ang sikreto sa isang relasyon, just make the person feel special as much as possible. 'Yun lang naman ang kailangan kong gawin. Dapat kapag may karelasyon ka, dapat every day Valentine’s. 'Yun lang naman ang goal ko,” he said.
Meanwhile, Anderson denied speculations that their relationship is on the rocks since they were not seen celebrating Christmas and New Year together.
“Magkasama kami nung Pasko at New Year. Nag-celebrate kami together. Actually mas maganda 'yon [na hindi kami nakikita]. Mas gusto ko 'yun,” he said smiling.
Anderson and Salvador became a couple in 2013. Their blossoming romance made headlines back then after actress Kim Chiu expressed regret over her "wasted" friendship with Salvador.
Anderson was Chiu’s former boyfriend, while Salvador was her erstwhile best friend.
All the parties have already patched things up since.
